After the purchase of Sportnco earlier this year, this contract is the first of its kind in the US for GiG and is an example of the potential of the newly combined product offering.
The new platform and sportsbook introduce technology, and flexible architecture that are both powered by GiG’s data and solutions.
Maryland’s sports betting market is now expected to generate $217m in revenue in the very first year.
Richard Brown, CEO of GiG is very optimistic about the future of the partnership between GiG and Crab Sports. He commented: “I am excited to be partnering with a localised brand like Crab Sports in Maryland, US. We view the Maryland and the wider US market as a strong opportunity given our expertise in personalisation and building a unique customer experience.
“We believe we can partner with brands, such as Crab Sports, and truly provide them with differentiation on the market and help them compete against the nationwide Tier 1 players. We look forward to working with the excellent team at Crab Sports to help build a brand and an experience that will stand out in Maryland.”
GiG has been on a path of expansion this year. In August 2022, the group launched into the Ontario market after signing with Kings Media, and in July it entered the Portuguese market via a deal with Moosh.
Additionally, in May GiG had teamed with affiliate Rainmaker, in a contract that allowed Rainmaker to use GiG Comply, as well as other various features designed to facilitate compliance with different market requirements.
