In response to increasing accessibility to gambling and the proliferation of sports betting advertisements, Evive has launched a new digital health platform aimed at helping individuals develop a healthier relationship with gambling. The platform is designed to provide support for preventing gambling harm, changing gambling behaviours or stopping gambling altogether.
Evive’s platform offers a suite of features developed in collaboration with professionals in psychology, addiction counselling and mobile technology. This collaboration aims to help users gain greater awareness of their gambling habits and provides tools to help them manage or eliminate harmful behaviours.

The platform’s features include behavioural change tools, a customised toolkit, educational content and a private community for support. The behavioural change tools track and analyse gambling behaviour, aiming to help users understand patterns and triggers.
The customised toolkit offers resources like self-help tools, support groups and access to professional counselling services. Educational content vetted by experts aims to empower users with knowledge about gambling and strategies to prevent and recover from gambling harm.
The private community feature allows members to connect anonymously with peers and experts, sharing experiences and receiving guidance. This aspect of the platform is designed to ensure that support is accessible and inclusive for all members.
“Our nation’s current efforts to address gambling harm are not keeping pace with the need brought about by the recent widespread legalisation of sports and mobile gambling,” said Evive Chief Scientific Officer, Jeff Marotta, PhD. “Evive reaches a much broader population than traditional tools, empowering members to seek help before more harm is caused.”
The launch of Evive’s platform comes at a time when responsible gambling initiatives are gaining more attention. The Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) recently upgraded the Cruks API to improve data processing and control, aiming to better manage self-exclusion registers for players.
Additionally, the Dutch Online Gambling Association (NOGA) expressed concern over new ps showing a rise in the number of people seeking addiction care for gambling issues. According to a study by the National Alcohol and Drugs Information System (LADIS), the number of people in addiction care for gambling increased significantly from 1,920 in 2022 to 2,456 in 2023.
