Cipher Sports Technology Group, an iGaming and sports betting content and data solutions provider, has signed a deal with the Pennsylvanian newspaper, Times Leader Media Group.

The strategic partnership will see Cipher Sports power the new sports betting section of the Times Leader platform.

This will include supplying the newspaper with predictive analytics and information on both professional and collegiate sports leagues.

Kerry Miscavage, Times Leader Media Group Publisher, said: “We are proud to join forces with Cipher Sports Technology Group to bring a dynamic and immersive sports betting platform to our readers in Pennsylvania.

“By combining our deep understanding of news with Cipher’s cutting-edge predictive analytics, we will elevate our local and national sports coverage.”

The sports betting market in Pennsylvania is one of the longest-standing in the US, being one of the first states to legalise it in November 2018 following the United States Supreme Court dropping the ban earlier that May.

Since then, Pennsylvania launched online and mobile betting May 2019, and The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board even released a self-exclusion system earlier this year.

Adam Fiske, Cipher Sports Technology Group CEO, said: “The fusion of Cipher’s analytical prowess with Times Leader’s extensive regional coverage establishes a unique synergy that will undoubtedly enhance the sports betting experience for our audience.

“This partnership aligns with our shared vision of creating a platform that not only entertains but also empowers users to make informed decisions.”

The Times Leader Group has prepared a targeted marketing campaign for the launch of its sports betting section for its audience.

In its July 2023 reports, Pennsylvania reported a total gambling revenue increase of 9%, but more importantly a sports wagering revenue increase of 48%.
