The deal will give the operator, the joint venture between MGM Resorts and GVC Holdings, rights to use PGA Tour trademarks in the US, as well as being permitted to advertise within the Tour’s media and partner platforms.
BetMGM will also have access to content and video rights, allowing its sportsbook platforms to create pre-game and post-game betting programming, and distributing highlights to users who have placed bets.
The operator has existing sponsor relationships with several members of the PGA Tour, the men’s major golf tournament organiser, including Jimmy Walker, Keven Na, Pat Perez and Boo Weekly.
BetMGM chief marketing officer Matt Prevost, said, “We look forward to working with the PGA Tour to integrate great experiences for BetMGM customers.
“BetMGM’s advanced betting technology, combined with the PGA Tour’s world-class competitions and iconic players, will not only advance the Tour’s position at the forefront of professional sports, but the entire betting industry as well.”
Bet MGM, owned by Roar Digital – a partnership between MGM and GVC – is currently licensed to accept sports betting in seven states in the US, planning to reach 11 by the end of 2020.
