Scientific Games has signed a deal with Westlotto.
This will see Scientific Games supply Contour.v terminals to retail points across North Rhine-Westphalia, the most heavily populated state in Germany.
Over 3,000 retail points will receive the terminals, with the rollout beginning in April 2025.
This is part of an initiative to modernise retail lottery across Germany.
This will build on the 25-year relationship between the two companies, with Scientific Games also providing WestLotto with its retailer management system, retail point-of-sale technology, iLottery and sports betting products.
Andreas Kötter, Westdeutsche Lotterie Managing Director, said: “Our work with WestLotto’s longtime technology partner Scientific Games continues to modernise our retail network.
“The new camera-based terminals are the next step toward digitalising transactions in our retail environments, and we anticipate a very positive reaction from our retailers as well as our players.”
The Contour.v terminals have the ability to scan tickets, along with HD screens for both the clerk and the player.
Matthias Müller, Scientific Games VP of Sales & Marketing, said: “WestLotto has always demonstrated a strong focus on technology.
“Moving to new optical terminals is another example of innovative vision to modernise the lottery retail experience.
“We are very pleased that WestLotto continues to trust Scientific Games’ technology and support services.”
Scientific Games acts as a supplier for 16 lotteries in Germany, and 150 lotteries globally, including the national lottery of Estonia, Eesti Loto, which it recently signed a new deal with.
In addition to Contour.v terminals, Scientific Gaming also provides games, technology, analytics and solutions.
