The tournament brackets, essentially betting on the outcomes of games at the basketball tournament, has grown significantly in popularity over years.
Millions of American college basketball fans join betting pools and place wagers on the annual NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Tournament, also known as March Madness, which takes place this year between 15 March and 4 April.
In response to the growth of the event, which comprises 68 college teams competing in a knockout tournament, DraftKings is hosting a comprehensive analysis of the opening betting lines, in addition to breaking news and coverage from industry experts and sports personalities.
Brian Angiolet, Chief Media Officer, DraftKings, commented: “As viewers turn their eyes to the college hoops post-season, DraftKings will deliver new content catering to the skin-in-the-game fan. We’ve assembled a diverse lineup of sports personalities and voices to engage customers and provide a unique perspective on the bracket.”
Through its YouTube channel, and in partnership with Vegas Sports Information Network (VSiN), DraftKings will broadcast two separate shows on the event.
The first, titled Line Drop: The Bracket will run between 6pm-8pm EST on 13 March, and will provide fans with the presentation of the bracket pairings for this year’s tournament. Viewers can then tune in to further analysis and insight from a team of experts.
Later that evening, a show titled VSiN’s Tournament Betting Breakdown will run between 7pm-1am EST, with a view to analysing betting data to help the audience fill out their own tournament brackets.
To complement its coverage of the tournament, VSiN’s 2022 Bracket Strategy Guide is expected to be made available during the first week of the tournament.
